Deadline to File VETS-100 & EE0-1 Reports
The VETS-100 requires covered employers to report the number
and job classifications of the veterans you employ. Employers
with Federal contractors of $25,000 or more, regardless of the
number of employees you have, must file the VETS-100 form.
Although the VETS-100 report is normally due September 30, the
Department of Labor (DOL) has delayed mailing out the forms to
covered employers until sometime in mid-September.
The EEO-1 requires covered employers to report, by gender and
job classification, the ethnic and racial composition of your
workforce. Employers in either of two categories must
submit the EEO-1 form by September 30, 2003. You are
required to file if you have:
- 100 or more employees; or
- 50 or more employees and a federal contract of $50,000 or
more.
Special Note: Next year's EEO-1 report may be substantially different
from this year's filing. Back in June, the EEOC proposed revisions
to the EEO-1 as a result of additional racial and ethnic categories
added to the federal classification standards in the 2000 census
by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
